Giving, made clear
Supporters can ask where to give — a country, a project, Zakat, or “where most needed”. The bot looks up live campaigns and published amounts, then can add a real donation to the cart.
WordPress plugin · UK charities
Answers “where should I give?”, adds the right donation to the cart, and points supporters to events and volunteering — without inventing campaigns or amounts.
Not a CRM. Not a payment processor. It sits on your existing WordPress charity site and uses the campaigns and amounts you already publish.
What it does
CharityBot is a guided helper on your public site. It looks up live WordPress data so it does not invent projects, prices, or event dates.
Supporters can ask where to give — a country, a project, Zakat, or “where most needed”. The bot looks up live campaigns and published amounts, then can add a real donation to the cart.
It can point people to events, volunteering, and overseas deployments using your existing WordPress content — useful when someone is ready to help but not only to give money.
A small teaser on the public site opens the chat. Suggested chips start common journeys. The bot stays off checkout so payment pages stay clean.
Staff can review chat history in WordPress, set a privacy notice URL, and keep copy aligned with how the charity talks. Built for small teams, not a 40-person ops department.
It is not a human agent, not a CRM, and not a Gift Aid engine. Payments stay on your existing checkout — cards, wallets, or Direct Debit as you already run them.
GBP, privacy wording, and the reality of a small CIO: one site, several campaigns, and supporters who want a straight answer before they donate.
Why this is a UK product
Gift Aid, Direct Debit, and a public privacy notice are not extras — they are how UK supporters already give. The helper is built around that, not around a generic chatbot.
| UK charity need | How Guide Chat helps |
|---|---|
| Supporters ask “where should I give?” and bounce | Live lookup of countries and projects already on the WordPress site — then add to cart |
| Gift Aid and Direct Debit must stay correct | The bot never collects Gift Aid or take payments. Checkout and GoCardless stay yours |
| GDPR and a public privacy notice | In-chat privacy wording and a link to the page you already publish |
| Small teams, no extra SaaS login | Lives in WordPress. Chat history is in wp-admin, not another dashboard |
| Events and volunteering sit next to donations | Same helper can send people to those pages instead of forcing a gift |
How it works
It runs on the public charity site only. Checkout pages stay uncluttered.
Countries, projects, and published price handles come from WordPress — the same data visitors already see.
The first messages can include a link to your privacy notice. You keep control of that URL.
If they choose a donation, it goes into the existing cart. Cards, wallets, PayPal, or monthly giving stay on your gateways.
Trust & GDPR
UK visitors should know they are talking to a website helper, not a person, and where to read the privacy notice. CharityBot is designed so you can say that up front and link to the page you already maintain.
Answers are grounded in live WordPress records. If something is not on the site, the bot should not offer it.
Point the helper at your existing privacy policy. Chat history stays in WordPress for your team to review.
The helper can add to cart. Taking the gift — including Gift Aid questions — remains on the donation flow you already audit.
